Sickness

If you believe sickness entered the world by the sin of Adam and Eve, then you already know the truth about the spiritual significance in sickness.

The first thing to consider about sickness, is that sickness did not exist before Adam and Eve ate forbidden food.  That is something we must consider.  Scripture is very clear as to what is acceptable for food and what is not.  There are a myriad of animals that are not to be eaten.  Proverbs warns against over eating in general as well as the consumption of too much sweetness and fancy food.  The old saying, "you are what you eat" is an old adage, because there is validity in the statement.  We know good health is clearly related to a good diet.
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of YHWH thy G-d, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am YHWH that healeth thee.  Exodus 15:26   Torah of Holy Scripture

Now before you ask, "but what about congenital problems and birth defects?"  We also know, when Messiah was asked if a man born blind was born that way because of his parent's sin and Messiah said it was that G-d could be glorified.  How many times does anyone truly stand in faith, believing G-d's Will to be done, and whatever that is, will be for His glory?  I realize many babies are now kept alive by intensive neonatal care, and often very invasive procedures, even before birth.  I chose the medical intervention route when I was having children, and I still buried babies and suffered miscarriages.  I don't mean to sound calloused, but for all the pro-life argument and rhetoric, if aborted babies go back to G-d, wouldn't those who are just too sick or damaged to live, also?   Long gone are the days, in which this society actually believed that life and death are in the hands of our Creator.
Y'hshuwah said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.  Mark 9:23, 24

The Word of G-d tells us that sons do not pay for the sins of the fathers, but we are also told that blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience are established for generations.  I believe that is due to the fact, we learn and repeat what we learn . . . and without repentance, disobedience to the Word becomes a "family tradition."  Keep in mind, most of Christianity, holds a Bible, claims to believe it, but . . . also believe 3/4 of it has been rendered obsolete.  This could very well be contributing to the illness we see and the health problems many are experiencing.  We know when Messiah walked this earth offering healing and deliverance, Israel was not living by Torah, but rather by the man-made traditions of Talmud.
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of G-d, that ye may keep your own tradition.  Mark 7:9

We are created in the image of our Creator, so that means we are first and foremost a spirit, with a mind and body.  Our mind and body do reflect our spiritual health.  As our society has moved away from an agrarian base, and embraced medical intervention on every level, we may be living longer, but certainly not healthier.  A healthy lifestyle is a personal choice of faith with obedience and determination in discipleship.  Health does not come in a pill or from medical technology.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  III John 2
